Everglades Day Trip: What to Bring
A simple packing list for an airboat tour out of Miami Beach, from sunscreen to cameras.
An airboat tour is an easy half-day trip, but the Everglades are more open, sunnier and windier than the beach. Here’s what to bring from your hotel.
Bring these
- Sunscreen and a hat that stays on. The sun is strong and there’s no shade on the water. A cap or a hat with a strap works better than a wide brim.
- Sunglasses. They cut the glare off the water and keep the wind out of your eyes.
- A light layer. Even on hot days it can feel cool at speed, especially on sunset tours.
- Closed-toe shoes or secure sandals. Flip-flops come off easily getting on and off the boat.
- Bug spray. It’s most useful for sunset tours and in the warmer months.
- Phone or camera with a strap. Alligators often surface right beside the boat, so you’ll want it ready.
- Snacks or drinks, if you like. Every boat has an ice-filled cooler and bottled water, and you’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
Leave these at the hotel
- Anything loose that could blow away, like scarves, paper maps or loose hats.
- Valuables you don’t need on the water.
Good to know
- Kids under 6 ride free on the private tours.
- Sunset tours need to be booked at least a day ahead.
- With hotel pickup, you don’t have to plan parking, tolls or directions. Just be in the lobby at your pickup time.
Skip the drive. We pick you up.
Every private airboat tour includes round-trip private transportation from your Miami Beach hotel or rental. Call with your address and group size to book.
